The Difference
Basically the price £400 & then there's the quality between the two definitions. All the recording packages that are offered are all produced in the same way as each other. What you get from a SD production package offer is the same as you would get from a HD production package offer and visa versa except the image definition quality. Have you ever wondered why people are paying all over again for new TV sets and monitors? Well, wonder no more, because you’ll be able to clearly see the difference which in any other circumstances you probably wouldn't. Below there are two images, one below the other. They are both the same image but one has been prepared as a Standard Definition SD image and the other is a High Definition HD image. The main difference is in the detail and colour. Now take a moment to look at the first image. This is a typical image you would see in Standard Definition SD and from most broadcasts on any SD TV set.
Now take a look at the below image and notice how much detail is in the picture.
Without putting the images side by side most people would probably have never noticed the difference or bothered at all about the quality of what they see in SD. Basically the bottom image is pin sharp with more vibrant colour where as the first image appears to be slightly blurred. This slightly blurred appearance is due to the fact of a SD image being placed close with a HD image for close scrutinisation. When you view the first image on a standard TV set you wouldn't normally see the blur in normal viewing circumstances and it in itself would be interpreted as to being pin sharp. HD is here to stay and eventually SD will go out of fashion just like the old Beta Max Video System did when it had its now ageing rival back in the 1980s, the VHS System. Its happening again with SD & HD. HD is going to prevail over SD mainly because of the quality but you will still be able to watch your SD videos so not to much to worry about their then. Only if you feel the need for HD for the best quality possible today, would I recommend going for HD but you must remember that in order to watch your HD production, you must have an HD TV in order to get the most from it. If you put it on to an SD TV then you may as well have had it recorded in SD Another thing to consider is a HD DVD Player because without that you wont be able to watch the HD DVD. There is one other factor to consider and that is the cost of an HD Video Production. Is it really worth the extra money for the extra detail when without actually seeing the comparison pictures side by side you might never have noticed a difference at all and at the same time would never have thought about the detail. The rest is for you now to make your own informed choice of what you think is best for yourselves and your budget.
